2010 Grammys Commentary + Winners

One of the biggest nights in music took place last night, the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, and let's just say that it was Ladies' Night. The biggest winners of the night were Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and the leader of the pact, Beyoncé - who made history by being the first to win six Grammys in one night. Check out the elleELLEeye commentary by ♥ t i f f a n y & DANiE, our favorite performance and the full list of the 2010 Grammy winners!

I was totally surprised that Lady Gaga opened the show with Elton John (and Elijah Kelley, commentator of the performance from the hit movie Hairspray), but I must say she put on a performance. The show continued with a comedic slot by Stephen Colbert who won a Grammy for Best Comedy Album.

"Song of the Year" went to the well deserved hard-working woman of show business, Beyoncé! I'll admit that I was a little disappointed that Bey didn't perform something else (considering I watch all of her performances and "If I Were A Boy" is old to me), but she delivered regardless. Did anyone peep Keri Hilson with her dead down while she was performing though? No comment...no Grammy =x

Green Day's performance was excellent!

Goldilocks herself, Taylor Swift, graced the stage and sang a total of three songs. The first song, she sang solo and remaining two songs she performed with country legend Stevie Nicks. She sounded pretty good, very mellow and chill, but I was looking forward to rocking out with her - which didn't happen...booo!

The "3D" Tribute to Michael Jackson was performed by Celine Dion, Usher, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson and Smokie Robinson.
I didn't have 3D glasses! If you watched this tribute with them, please let me know how it looked! There's no denying the talent these artist possess. I cant believe Michael's gone, but it was a little heart wrenching to hear his voice on the track as the artists sang with it. The tribute was dope.

I had 3D glasses, and it made no difference! If you think about it, it shouldn't have worked because it's really us (the people at home) watching someone else watch a 3D movie. I thought that the tribute was a bit creepy and that they could have done something else. I'm sure Michael would be flattered and taken back being honored, but if I was the King of Pop I would have wanted to see something else. I give that performance a thumbs down.

Prince and Paris Jackson once again showed their courage and spoke to the thousands of people in place of their late father Michael Jackson. What did you think about their short speeches?

I thought that Prince is very well-spoken and I appreciated Paris' little thank you. They are some brave kids.

Best Rap Collab: Rihanna and Jay-Z, "Run This Town". Their appearance with Juelz (Beyoncé's nephew) was the best part. The dapper little boy wore his tux with a fresh pair of Nike Dunks! When Rihanna picked him up and asked him if he had anything to say, he politely smiled and said "No, thanks". HOW CUTE! I AGREE!

Wyclef Jean stepped to the stage and reminded everyone of how strong the Haitian people are. I thought that was important because the news does portray some of the saddest images. That's a good take on it. I thought he looked a little too happy, but I see what you mean.

Pink's performance wasn't much different from that of the one she gave at the MTV VMAs. She did the whole gymnast/acrobatic thing, and though some were amazed, I was bored and confused at the part where she was dips in water and started spinning in the air. I would've been mad if I got wet!

The most random part of the night for me was when I missed the introduction to a performance. What performance? Jamie Foxx and T-Pain's "Blame It" with Doug E. Fresh. I thought it was so funny! Jamie is crazy.

Round of applause to Lil' Wayne, Eminem, and Drake! They graced the staged together and did a good job. Drake is growing as a performer, I actually enjoyed watching him.

The biggest awards of the night, Album of the Year, went to the American Sweetheart, Taylor Swift. She beat out Beyoncé, Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga and the Dave Matthews Band. Honestly, I wanted the B.E.P. to win, but I think all of those nominated deserved it.

CLICK HERE FOR THE COMPLETE LIST OF WINNERS

And my favorite performance was...Black Eyed Peas (who won three awards) doing "Imma Be" and "I Gotta Feeling". Happy Watching!

eyeWatch: "Up Out My Face"

Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj team up for Mariah's single "Up Out My Face". The video was directed by Nick Cannon and there isn't much to it besides Nicki and Mariah portraying life sized Barbies. Nicki's looking nice in her red dress and Mimi looks like typical Mariah. I'll leave my thoughts on the video in a comment, as should you. Happy watching!

eyePod: Venus FlyTrap

What's playing on our eyePod today? The sounds of Miss Alycia Bellamy. Some of you may know who Alycia is, but if not by name, you may recognize her from Season One of the MTV show "Daddy's Girls" starring Venessa & Angela Simmons. Alycia is an aspiring artist and though her sound (and look) are very reminiscent of the late, great Aalyiah, she might just become a force to be reckoned with in due time. Check out one of her latest releases, "Venue Flytrap". Happy listening!

WiSH LIST: iPad

Just when you thought Apple was trying to make iPods smaller and smaller, the iPad came along. Apple unveiled its new tablet-style iPad and plans on selling it starting at $499. The iPad resembles an iPhone, but larger. Apple will sell some iPad models with data plans from AT&T, with no contract required. Apple Inc. will have to convince consumers, many of whom already have Internet-connected phones, computers and TVs, that they’ll want to pay that much for such a device, when many small, lightweight “netbooks” cost less than $400.

CEO Steve Jobs says the iPad will be better for reading books, playing games and watching video than either a laptop or a smart phone. The initial price is likely to drop. Apple sold the first iPhone for $599 but slashed the price to $399 after a few months, upsetting early buyers.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE iPad?

Stupid Girls

Today's W.O.W. (Wild Out Wednesday) video comes from singer, Pink; who while performing one of her singles "Stupid Girls" came at Beyoncé. Pink chose to dress up in a blonde wig, a crazy outfit and let's not forget to mention the "Sasha Fierce" hand and mock of the "Single Ladies" dance; which made it blatantly clear that she was coming at the Queen Bey.

Video Link

In other news, Beyoncé is putting Sasha Fierce to rest. The diva says in her interview with Allure:

"The thing that's interesting is I don't need Sasha Fierce anymore, because I've grown and I'm now able to merge the two. Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I'm working and when I'm on the stage. The double album allows me to take more risks and really step out of myself, or shall I say, step more into myself, and reveal a side of me that people [who] only know me see."

I'll save my opinion on both topics for a comment, as should you! So get to commenting!

JuNK FOOD: Jer$ey $hore

The "Jersey Shore" cast is bidding to bump its salaries up to a fist-pumping $10,000-an-episode following the wild success of their MTV show. The cast -- including Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, "Pauly D" Delvecchio, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Jenni "J-Woww" Farley -- earned only a few hundred dollars each per episode for the first season, and now want a huge raise for the next one.

A source close to the crew told us, "They want $10,000 an episode, arguing that the stars from 'The Hills' get $100,000 per episode and that show doesn't even rate as high. They're hanging together like the cast of 'Friends' and saying if they don't all get the pay increase, none of them will return."

The finale show was watched by 4.8 million viewers, three times the audience of the season opener. Although that's a huge number for MTV, a rep for MTV refused to comment on the negotiations and added, "We have not yet confirmed a season two."

A Waiting Ape

Saturday, January 23rd A Bathing Ape was set to release the second wave of the collaboration with former employee the lonely stoner Mr. Solo Dolo, KiD CuDi. The first collaboration was released September 3rd at Fashion's Night Out. I was lucky enough to be second in line to get my hands on a size small after finding out there were only 60 at that.

After a long and dragging 10 hours of waiting I met a lot of interesting and successful people; Plain Pat (Kanye's A&R and Cudi's manager) and Dr. Genious (the man behind the genius beat of Day and Night). During the long hours many friends gathered, from all over. How awesome is that?

People gathered from the five boroughs of NYC - Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens etc. The aggravation came and went from desperate kids from Bapetalk, and Bapetalk2 saying "Where's Cudi" "I want my shirt already". Kids arrived at Bape during early hours of the morning but as the sun set and the night came the line grew and grew more where it reached the size of two flown blocks complete pandemonium.

So Kid Cudi was set to arrive at 7, for the release of the shirt but God knows drinking was involved right Cudder? He got there around 7:30-8:00pm with a bottle of corona at hand.

So as he entered Bape everyone felt a level of relief. He greeted everyone on the line and literally jumped in the crowd. The level of humbleness this dude has is beyond me. Once he got settled inside the store they started letting in the kids 2 by 2, me of course being second got to go in first. I had a brief dialogue with him "Hey wassup bro" "Nothing much" "Hey Scott you're a success, I look up to you man" "I mean a year ago you worked here, you were me a nobody that's a somebody now. Your face is on a shirt, f!#$ the music that alone is an accomplishment."

He took a step back, analyzed what I had said, he looked at me with that look of relief and siad "I made it" and gave me dap and said "You're a true fan, don't re-sell this shirt" as he signed it. My friend didn't have money to buy his shirt but he asked Cudi if he could sign his Yeezys and Cudi said "Dude I'll sign your forehead if you want."

With all the waiting the night ended super. I got my posters and my shirt signed but fast-forward to last weekend Saturday after a long day of work and running on two and a half hours of sleep... I get a call from my friend saying "Dude there's people lining up already for the Baby Milo Party Tee". So I didn't hesitate I called my cousin "I need a favor...dude drive me to Soho ASAP!" It was 12:13 in the morning I recall. He said "I'll be there in 15." So i quickly got dressed grabbed my red wing boots and was out the door.

As I arrived I saw familiar faces from other campouts in which I attended. I gave dap to all my fellow bape heads, cracked jokes all night, spoke about the latest garments, future collabos, school, music, and whatever came to mind. As the night got colder we kept walking back and forth from the Halal chicken spot on Prince Street trying to anything to keep warm, but we failed. I lost track of time the night came and went and more people arrived later on, more familiar faces, more jokes, more jibberish, music, food, clothes can this night get any better ? So the sun came out and everyone smiled as the first rays touched us with a tiny bit of warmth "our toes where frozen but my red wings kept me nice and toasty like toaster struddles ;].

Everyone kept clocking their watches anxiously waiting for 12 O'clock to arrive. I detached myself from the line a few times headed to starbucks around 10 in the morning for coffee and to use the bathroom like everyone else; once i felt human again and did my business i headed back to the line for 2 more hours, til we got our shirts oh and my friend June shout out to him for taking these amazing pictures. So 12'oclock came and went i got my shirt me and rob are the only two individuals with a size small in new york. So you might question if I'm sane or not? So I leave you with this to validate the extent of what you do - whatever that is whether it makes you happy or not.

Until next time follow my quest like Johnny . . .

ToP THIS: Rules That Guys Wish Girls Knew

Ladies, here are some rules that guys wish we knew.
Sincerely, A guy,

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

2. We notice other women because we are men and we are alive. This does not mean we're planning to dump you and get with them.

3. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done. Not both.

4. If we ask what's wrong and you say "nothing," we will act like nothing is wrong.

5. Get to the point.

6. Understand that men are single-minded and can only do one thing at a time. So don't talk to us while we're doing something. We will either ignore you, because we don't hear you "honestly), or we'll screw up what we're doing because you've distracted us.

7. If something we said could be interpreted two ways, and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

8. It's not that we don't want to make you happy, it's just that sometimes, we don't know how.

9. Learn to work the toilet seat. If it's up, put it down.

10. If you ask a question you don't really want an answer to, expect an answer you didn't want to hear.

11. Your ex-boyfriend is an idiot.

12. Ask for what you want. Let's be clear on this one: Subtle hints don't work. Strong hints don't work. Really obvious hints don't work. Just say it!

13. Yes and no are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

14. Sometimes we just don't want to talk. Don't take it personally.

15. Breathe occasionally so we can get a word in.

16. No, we don't know what day it is. We never will. Mark anniversaries on a calendar that you know we will check.

17. Men see a limited number of colors, like Windows default settings. Peach is a fruit, not a color.

18.Helpless is not cute.

19. Our relationship is never going to be like it was the first two months we were going out.

20. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during commercials.

Sounds about right? Feel free to add some more of your own

Deuces,
DANiE

effFOOT effFETISH

Corns, bunions, fungus, althete's...all words associate with feet! So my question is, why do men have foot fetishes? I know there's a plus side to feet, like nice pedicures, designs, or the way women's feet look in heels, but really...why do men get aroused by feet?

So I did some digging and here's what I found on AskMen.com:

Dear AskMen.com,

"Question: I have an uncontrollable foot fetish. Women's feet excite me immensely. Am I abnormal? It seems that I can't get aroused when I'm with a woman unless I can lick, suck and sniff her feet. What do I do?
Foot freak in Philly

Answer: Dear Foot ,

There are many men like yourself who find women's feet extremely arousing. Since there are plenty of women who enjoy having their feet massaged, it's likely that you can satisfy your needs while making love, without seeming obsessed.

If you reveal that you have such a fetish too soon in a relationship, it may turn some women off. They may feel as though you care more for a certain part of their anatomy than for who they are, which could, in turn, drive them away.

I suggest that you pay attention to a woman's feet during lovemaking, without making your foot fetish so obvious that you can't establish a relationship with her on other levels.

If your fetish begins to prevent you from having normal relationships with women and this bothers you, then I suggest that you consult a professional therapist for further assistance.
